As the season of lovers rock draws near, the long-running compilation series “RELAXIN’ WITH JAPANESE LOVERS”, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, returns with its 9th installment. Centered around Japanese lovers rock, the new volume continues its tradition of genre-blending selections that cross boundaries between major and indie, past and present—delivering sweet and balearic vibes throughout.

The LP includes rare 7-inch-only cuts like Crazy Ken Band’s “Kiss (Slowly Remix)” and Hideshi Ino’s “Hymne A L’amour”, as well as a remix of “Reebok” by rising singer-songwriter Satoko Shibata—also known for her work as a poet and writer—remixed by tofubeats.

These 9 highly anticipated tracks, already making waves on the CD release, are now compiled as “SELECTIONS” and pressed on vinyl for the first time. The LP also features signature cover photography by Masataka Ishida and design by Eisaku Ono, known for his work with relax magazine. A return to the series’ roots, this edition includes liner notes from series founder and DJ/producer Akimasa Yabushita and music writer Ken Miyauchi.
